Winterization - I/O and Inboards

Basic winterization consists of:

• Adding stabilizer to the fuel system.
• Running the engine to operating temperature.
• Changing the engine oil.
• Running the engine on fresh water to flush out salt deposits.
• Fogging the motor with rust preventative oil.
• Draining the blocks and manifolds & refilling with antifreeze.
• Inspect heat exchanger and top off with antifreeze, if applicable.
• Drain salt water passages and fill with antifreeze, if applicable.
• Replacing the fuel filters.
• Coating the engine with a light oil.
